Major Enhancements
Dashboard
The Bloxx web filtering appliance now includes a Dashboard tab which provides a quick and easy access point for summary information regarding activity on the Bloxx appliance. Dashboard information is constantly updated by the system and gives you both a real-time view of current activity and quick access to recent summary statistics.
HA
The Bloxx web filtering appliances can now be combined to provide a high availability (HA) recovery solution. This protects your organisation from loss of Internet access in the event of system failures. The appliances, or nodes, in a High Availability setup form an Active/Passive relationship in which the active appliance is normally responsible for handling all Internet access from your organisation. The passive appliance will automatically step in to provide the Proxy service should the active appliance experience a problem that prevents it from handling web traffic.
HTTPS
The Bloxx web filtering appliance now allows you to control the sensitivity of access to HTTPS traffic, for each Filtering Policy, from blocking all HTTPS traffic to only unclassified URLs with invalid SSL certificates. The appliance contains a database of pre-installed SSL Certificates to which it will automatically add certificates from chained SSL certificates or certificate groups, and to which you can manually add certificates of your own choosing.
Cross-Category Lexicon
The Bloxx keyword database (Filtering and Protection/Content) has now been revised to the new Cross-Category Lexicon (CCL). The CCL allows you to quickly define list of words or phrases of your own choosing which can instantly block access to any web page which contains any occurrence of the specified words or phrases. This option offers another layer of filtering, across all Bloxx categories, which can be useful in special circumstances and which functions in addition to the real-time contextual analysis provided by Tru-View Technology.
Quicker Reports
Underlying changes have been made to speed up the run-time of Bloxx reports. This may involve studying the settings of your existing reports as certain filter settings can increase the time it takes to run a report - a warning will appear next to the setting if this is the case.
