Email productivity: Filtering email to make it productive again

People interact with email in different ways but can often feel under pressure to read and act on received emails immediately or within a very short timeframe. Conventional email spam filters focus on preventing spam and other email threats from being delivered to users. The Bloxx Email Categorisation Engine

The Bloxx Email Filter contains a unique real-time email Categorisation Engine that and goes far beyond traditional spam email filtering, letting you quickly and effectively manage non-business emails, proactively manage an email Acceptable Use Policy and increase user productivity.

The Bloxx Categorisation Engine – Tru-View Technology, a URL database and a cross-category lexicon – adds another layer of dynamic email content filtering that automatically categorises inbound and outbound emails into pre-defined content categories. An email policy then determines if a particular email should be blocked, allowed or held for future delivery. For example, you might create a policy that only allows emails categorised to be delivered to users at lunchtime – any emails received outside of that time would be held by the Bloxx Email Filter.

Email Filtering & Classification / Real-time Email Analysis

The Bloxx Email Filter provides real-time content analysis and categorisation of emails based on the top-level domain of the email address and any URL links embedded in the email. The Categorisation Engine uses an optimised URL database and Tru-View Technology – a real-time content categoriser – to accurately determine into which of the 50 Bloxx content categories the email should be classified.

This additional layer of filtering allows the Bloxx Email Filter to determine if an email is business or personal and determine how it should be handled, ensuring users are kept on task, and productivity and operational efficiency is maximized during core working hours.

To support your organisation's unique email filtering requirements, you can extend or override the URL category database shipped as standard with the Bloxx Email Filter to contain domains specific to your business.
