27 November 2009

Bloxx, the innovator in Web content filtering, today announced that it ranked number 175 on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 EMEA 2009, a ranking of the fastest growing public and private technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and green technology companies from 26 countries in EMEA, based on entrants’ five-year revenue growth.

“Bloxx is delighted to be listed in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 again,” says Bloxx CEO, Eamonn Doyle. “Being listed in Deloitte’s Fast 500 and Fast 50 for three consecutive years is a fantastic achievement for Bloxx and demonstrates how our outstanding products, hard work and loyal customer base have driven our growth and allowed us to maintain a strong position in a market that is extremely competitive.”

The Deloitte Technology Fast 500 is the most objective EMEA industry-ranking standard to focus on the technology sector. Entrants to the ranking must be public or private companies headquartered in EMEA and have been in business at least five years. Their base-year operating revenues must be at least €50,000 and current year operating revenues of at least €800,000.

“Making the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 EMEA ranking is a testament to a company’s commitment to technology,” David Halstead, partner in charge of Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 EMEA program. “With its 965.79% growth rate over five years, Bloxx has proven that its leadership has the vision and determination to grow in difficult conditions.”

Bloxx is a provider of third-generation Web filtering solutions which provide the highest levels of protection against inappropriate Web content, increase user productivity online and increase network security. Bloxx offers unique ‘next generation’ Web filtering technology that takes content identification to the next level. Based on each organisation’s Internet Access Policy, its Web filtering technology performs real-time contextual analysis of each requested Web page and classifies access requests into pre-defined categories. The solution then makes a real-time decision on whether to grant or deny access to the requested Web page, thus enabling organisations to proactively manage users’ access to Web content.

Bloxx boasts an impressive customer base of over 1.5 million users, from large corporations to educational institutions, including The Salvation Army, JCB and Bolton Council.

“The demand for Web filtering is ever increasing; fuelled by concerns over user productivity, network security-related issues and the potentially damaging legal implications stemming from inappropriate Internet use. Bloxx Web filtering allows organisations to protect users, networks and organisations’ bottom line, with minimal IT management time,” concludes Doyle.
