Web Filtering Company Bloxx Recognised for the Third Consecutive Year in Deloitte Technology Fast 50
23 October 2009
Company ranked number 34th Fastest Growing Technology Company in the UK
Bloxx, the innovator in Web filtering, today announced that it has been recognised by Deloitte as one of the UK’s fastest expanding technology businesses. Bloxx – who has established itself as the leading independent UK Web filtering provider – is listed number 34 in Deloitte’s prestigious Fast 50 awards for its rapid growth over the last five years.
“It’s a fantastic achievement to be listed for the third successive year in Deloitte’s Fast 50,” said Bloxx Chief Executive Officer Eamonn Doyle. “Bloxx competes in a global market against some of the largest IT security vendors which makes the level of growth we have achieved all the more remarkable.”
“The demand for Web filtering continues to grow as organisations look to obtain all the benefits of the Internet without the downsides of lost productivity, security issues and the legal implications surrounding inappropriate Internet use.”
David Halstead, the Partner leading the Deloitte Technology Fast 50, said: “In spite of the challenging financial market conditions, the 2009 Deloitte Fast 50 shows that stellar growth rates are still possible. The Technology Fast 50 awards are an opportunity for businesses to gain recognition for their successes and achievements over the previous 12 months.”
“Achieving sustained revenue growth of 966% over five years is a tremendous accomplishment during challenging times for the technology sector,” said Mike McGregor, Deloitte technology partner for Scotland. “Bloxx’s exceptional growth puts it in select company.”
Bloxx Tru-View Technology, developed at the company’s Livingston, UK research labs, allows Web pages to be accurately classified and filtered in real-time at the point users’ request them. This patented approach was the first commercially available Web filter that could cope with the rapid growth of the Internet and the dynamic nature of Web 2.0 content. Bloxx Web filtering appliances, powered by Tru-View Technology, help IT companies and organisations proactively manage users’ access to Web content which might otherwise lower productivity, expose the organisation to risk and liability or pose a network security threat.
The company boasts an impressive customer base of 1.5 million users, from large corporations to educational institutions, including The Salvation Army, NHS Lothian, The Robert Gordon University, Glenmorangie and JCB.
