Web Content Filtering Company Bloxx Reaching out to IT Professionals to Increase Awareness of Internet Watch Foundation’s National ‘Hotline’

14 October 2009

To coincide with the Internet Watch Foundation’s (IWF) National Awareness Day on the 14th October, Bloxx, the enterprise Internet filtering company, is reaching out to IT professionals across the UK to increase awareness of the national ‘Hotline’ provided by the IWF to report inadvertent exposure to potentially illegal web content.

The IWF aims to minimize the availability of potentially illegal internet content and operates a UK ‘Hotline’, enabling the public and IT professionals to report any instances of such content on the internet in order to remove it, prevent access to it and disrupt the activities of those operating such websites.

Bloxx, one of the UK’s top Web filtering companies, is a member of the IWF, whose other members include, Internet service providers, mobile operators and search providers. Bloxx’s third generation web filtering uses Tru-View Technology to identify and categorize web content as soon as a user attempts to access it, providing unsurpassed levels of user protection against illegal content.

Eamonn Doyle, Bloxx CEO, says: “We fully support the IWF’s Awareness Day and want to make sure IT professionals across the country are aware of the ‘Hotline’ the IWF supply to deal with any instances they come across in their web traffic logs and reports where their users’ inadvertently attempt to access child abuse websites, criminally obscene and racial hatred content. The more people who report such content, the more our web can be a safer place to surf.”
